AILIT Closing Conference

Ms. Murphy, Ms. Colclough and Mr. Devlin attended the AILIT closing conference in Stavanger, Norway last week. It was the culmination of 3 years of hard work for all involved in the project.

What is AILIT?

AILIT is an international project, funded by Erasmus+, and is a collaboration between researchers and teachers in Norway, the Netherlands, Spain, Portugal, and Ireland. Students in the partner countries have actively participated by writing texts. Researchers and teachers in the five countries have collaborated to build a digital platform where students can write texts supported by AI, have them translated, and read by students in other countries.

In AILIT, we have tested:

• Recommendation systems that allocate texts to students based on their interests
• Machine translation that makes texts available across languages
• AI assistance to help get started with writing and provide feedback along the way

We would like to thank all the staff and especially the pupils of Ms. Colclough’s Room 15 and Mr. Moynihan’s Room 8 who contributed to the project with their wonderful narratives.
