Birds of Prey Workshop

Last Wednesday and Thursday,our school hall was transformed into a temporary aviary as we received a special visit from Colin Travers and his incredible birds of prey, including majestic eagles and owls. This highly anticipated event offered students a unique, hands-on learning experience that brought the curriculum to life.

Colin shared fascinating insights into the lives of these magnificent creatures, covering their habitats, hunting techniques, and vital roles in the ecosystem. The highlight for many was the chance to get up close and personal: brave students and teachers alike had the opportunity to carefully hold one of the birds under expert supervision.

The visit culminated in an exhilarating demonstration as we watched the birds swoop gracefully and silently through the hall, showcasing their remarkable agility and wingspan right above our heads. It was a memorable and educational day that left everyone with a deeper appreciation for these spectacular predators.
