On Tuesday 12th November, Room 16 (3rd class) were delighted to receive a surprise invite to the BOC gases show as part of Science Week. It was hosted by the zany scientist Dr. Sheridan – he had a really crazy hairstyle! He taught us lots of information about gases, including important health and safety warnings (many gases are invisible, odourless – and poisonous). He mainly carried out experiments using nitrogen and we especially loved his dry ice experiments. He froze a flower and crushed it to pieces, he explained about the combustion triangle (you need oxygen, fuel and heat) and we even got to touch a cloud! What an exciting show and many thanks to Mr. Moynihan for organising.
