Both 5th classes were delighted to get the opportunity to visit an exhibition at Dublin Port and hear the story of 20 bridges that cross the River Liffey. We worked as a team in our groups to find answers around the room associated with the 20 bridges of Dublin. Some interesting facts we learned were that the Rosie Hackett bridge was built to carry the Luas from south to north side of the city, that it’s Dublin’s newest bridge built in 2014 and also the only current bridge named after a woman! Afterwards, we enjoyed being engineers by building our own bridges with Lego. Take a look at some of our snaps!
