Children’s Books Ireland 2025 Book Gifting

We are delighted to have been awarded the Children’s Books Ireland 2025 book gifting prize.

You can see the wonderful prize in our school hall and we look forward to our author visiting in February and March.

Inspired by the vision, ‘Every Child A Reader’, these projects have been designed to foster a genuine and lasting culture of reading in these selected schools. Through a wide range of book-gifting, creative and practical supports, alongside visits from a designated ‘Champion of Reading’, students will be empowered to read more, enjoy reading more and read more widely.

Each school will be awarded the following prizes:

• 250 books over the course of the next year (100 of which will be selected by the students).
• Promotional materials (posters, bookmarks, and more).
• A Champion of Reading to work with the school. This is an author or illustrator who will facilitate workshops to support and inspire a love of reading in students.
• Teacher resources and training on how to best use the new books in their library.
