Daily Mile Celebration

On Thursday 5th June, Scoil Mhuire gan Smál welcomed Efrem Gidey (Irish 10,000m record holder) to the school to celebrate the Daily Mile in Ireland. Efrem spoke to the pupils about work ethic and dedication. Frank Greally (Atheletics Ireland) also spoke to the pupils about gratitude and explained that getting to run the daily mile was a privilege and there is so many who can not enjoy that privilege. Mr O’Maille played the Daily Mile song on guitar and everyone sang along. Finally, Ms. Bower’s & Ms. Colclough’s class ran the daily mile with Efrem out on the Rosary Walk.
