In advance of the boys team’s second GAA match today – here is the match report from their historic first win in 3 years in Round 1 – Reporting for SMGS was Callum Walsh.
Today is the 11th of September, the first GAA match of the season S.M.G.S. vs James’ St. school Jayden in goal feeling very confident.
The referee just through it up Tyler has a strong run up and they’re on the attack and James’ with the free and with an attempt to score, ooh it goes wide, Jayden kicks it out and with an attack. S.M.G.S. have just scored a point! And one of our younger players Jack Mulrany scored it. Just had another attack they repel it Emmet with a few attacks there was no goal though. Jayden’s kick and we are attacking, James’ trying to defend and they repel it. It’s back up our end and Jayden fell and now one of our other players Danny has just been taken down.
And it’s our kick out goes to Lee and Lee scores! And number eight Alex just scored a point by taking the ball of James’ defence and just running with it and shooting and now Lee is now defending we are now twelve minutes gone and are ten points up.
Thirteen minutes gone and it’s free for James’ St. goal in the fourteenth minute and James’ St. The score is now 12-1.
S.M.G.S. attack but it goes wide and with another attack Luka scores. 18 minutes a Conor scores and a few seconds later number seven Tyler scores. The team is feeling more and more confident. The managers are very impressed and happy with how we are playing. And now I have a private interview with Emmet Noctor. He thinks that he is playing well and is feeling extremely confident. Manager Wallace hoping that we can keep it up and feeling good. And we just scored another point in the 25th minute Keepers kick out was intercepted by Luka and a point scored in the 26th minute we are defending now and we just attack again and it’s the last minute and the game is done.
