This November, our classroom has been buzzing with excitement as we explored our learning theme — Houses and Homes!
We began by thinking about what makes a house a home and had lots of fun creating our own lollipop stick houses. Everyone designed their own dream home, adding windows, doors, gardens, and even chimneys! We also learned about the different rooms in a house and the furniture you might find in each one.
A highlight of the month was reading the classic tale of The Three Little Pigs, which helped us think about how houses can be built in different ways — and what makes them strong! Be sure to check out our wonderful summaries and drawings on display outside our classroom — they show just how much we’ve learned!
During Science Week, our focus turned to electricity in the home. We discovered how electricity helps power things we use every day, like lights, cookers, and televisions, and we learned some important tips about staying safe around it.
Our toy kitchen has also been very busy! We’ve been setting the table, cooking pretend meals, and practising our social skills as we play together. We also enjoyed a fun sorting activity, learning about where to put different objects and materials — and which bins to use.
It’s been a month full of creativity, curiosity, and teamwork — and we can’t wait to see where our learning takes us next!
