Dear Parents and Guardians,
It is with great pride and anticipation that we write to inform you of a momentous occasion in the life of our school community.
On Monday, 22nd September, Helen McEntee, Minister for Education, will visit Scoil Mhuire Gan Smál to officially launch the new Irish Primary Curriculum.
This event is of exceptional significance, not only for our pupils and staff, but for the wider educational landscape. Our school has been selected as one of only 3300 primary schools nationwide to host this historic launch, underscoring the recognition of SMGS as a place of excellence and innovation in teaching and learning.
The new curriculum represents a landmark reform in Irish primary education, designed to meet the needs of today’s learners while equipping them with the skills, creativity, and resilience required for the future.
Minister McEntee’s presence in our school highlights the central role our community will play in shaping and implementing these transformative changes.
We are honoured to welcome the Minister and her delegation, and we look forward to sharing this special day with our pupils, who will experience first-hand the importance of education at both a local and national level.
