SMGS received a grant in 2021 to implement initiatives aimed at addressing the digital divide and support our learners at risk of educational disadvantage as a consequence, as part of the Irish National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP) a project under the Recovery and Resilience Facility funded by the European Union through NextGenerationEU. This funding was used to
Provide laptops and Chromebooks to students who did not have access to a device at home, so they can take part fully in digital learning.
Purchase assistive technology and software to help students with additional needs, including tools for Dyslexia, visual impairments, and other learning supports.
Improve our school’s internet access by upgrading the Wi-Fi system to ensure reliable connectivity for all classrooms.
These improvements have helped us create a more inclusive, connected, and supportive learning environment for all our students.
