  • Room 11 Assembly – The Buzz about Bees

Today Room 11 had the opportunity to host their assembly all about ‘Bees’. We wanted to create awareness before World Bee Day on May 20th. The children were so excited to share information about different types of bees, their importance to us as humans in all the ways that they pollinate and help our food chain. Along with sharing their knowledge about bees, they also performed songs such as ‘Here Comes the Sun’ and made up raps about the life of a bee to the tune of the Fresh Prince of Belair. The children dazzled in their costumes which I have to say were hugely impressive. A massive thank you to the parents who spent so much time creating outfits from scratch. One of our parents was so dedicated that she was knitting a bee t-shirt at a board of management meeting earlier this week working hard to make the deadline! Don’t worry Mette, Mr. Gough will be reminded of your work, every time he see’s a Bee!!! The children made such an effort to use and repurpose things they already had for their outfits and I couldn’t be more proud of the bee-autiful effort! Well done to all.
