Visiting Teachers from Wales

SMGS was thrilled to host a literacy workshop, yesterday, in conjunction with St. Patrick’s Campus D.C.U. Teachers from all over Wales came to Ireland to learn why our literacy scores are so high in International Standards. The Write2Read programme is one of the leading examples of best practice in teaching and assessing writing/reading in the primary school – a programme which SMGS has been involved with since Pilot stage. Currently we are engaging in a full year upskilling of staff in this area. The visiting teachers were astounded at the level and quality of the children’s’ work during their classroom visits.
