  • Autumn Trail

This week, we took the children on a wonderful Autumn Trail around the Rosary Ways to explore the changing season. As we walked, we spotted lots of colourful autumn leaves — reds, oranges, yellows — many of which had already fallen and made a crunchy carpet beneath our feet.

We were on the lookout for wildlife too! We saw some ladybirds enjoying the autumn sunshine, and although we tried really hard, the squirrels stayed hidden this time.

A lovely surprise on our trail was bumping into Aisling the Gardener. She showed us the worms hard at work in the compost, turning our food waste into rich soil — nature’s very own recycling team!

The children had great fun collecting conkers, which we’ll be using for our upcoming Autumn Market. And just when we thought the trail couldn’t get any better, we ended the walk with an impromptu sing-song on the way back to school!

It was a fun-filled, hands-on way to learn about the beauty and wonder of autumn.
