World Book Day was a fantastic celebration in SMGS this year, with creativity and imagination on full display throughout the school. One of the highlights was the wonderful effort that went into decorating our classroom doors, transforming the corridors into a colourful gallery of stories and favourite characters.
Each class chose a theme based on a much-loved book or series, and the results were truly impressive. From magical worlds and adventurous heroes to funny characters and classic tales, the doors were bursting with colour, creativity, and attention to detail. Pupils worked together to design, paint, cut, and assemble their displays, bringing their favourite novels to life for everyone to enjoy.
Walking down the hallways felt like stepping into a library of stories. The doors featured vibrant illustrations, imaginative scenes, and plenty of familiar faces from books that our pupils love to read. It was wonderful to see the pride the children took in their work and how excited they were to share their creations with other classes.
The door displays were not only beautiful but also a great way to celebrate the joy of reading. They sparked conversations about favourite books, encouraged pupils to discover new stories, and reminded us all how powerful books can be in inspiring imagination.
A huge well done to all of our pupils and teachers for the incredible effort they put into making World Book Day such a special event in SMGS. The creativity on show was truly outstanding, and our decorated doors made the celebration even more memorable.
We are already looking forward to next year’s World Book Day!
